Family owned and operated since 1991, the NY Cake business was born in the kitchen of founder Joan Mansour's home. Mansour was known throughout the neighborhood for the spectacular birthday cakes that she would make for her children. Hearing how beloved her cakes had become, Mansour was motivated to teach others the art of cake decorating—the beginning of what would become a NYC staple for bakers, cake decorators, and pastry professionals.

Today Mansour's children, Lisa and Jenny—who inherited her love of all things cake!—have continued her legacy and grown the NY Cake Franchise with classes, private events, catering and a branded line of products, in addition to the thousands of tools supplied to professionals and home bakers alike. Our Manhattan Flagship store is home to the Academy, Cafe and retail store making it a one-stop shop for your baking & cake decorating supplies, tools, and educational needs.

For 30 years, we have worked hard to maintain our core mission—to be a resource for the homemaker and baker, fostering their love for cake artistry. Our customers are truly a part of the NY Cake family, and we thank them for the crucial role they have played in making NY Cake what it is today!

For years NY Cake founder Joan Mansour taught some of Manhattan’s most renowned cake decorators. Today, daughter Lisa Mansour continues her legacy of culinary education as Director of NY Cake Academy. NY Cake Academy strives to teach the latest trends in cake decorating and baking through one-day classes, workshops, kids & teen camps, and certificate series. Whether you're an expert baker and decorator, or a beginner ready to explore the world of pastry, we have classes for every age and skill set!

In addition to our selection of in-person and live virtual classes, we also offer Private Events, Corporate Team Building Classes, Birthday Parties, and more, available both in-person at our Manhattan Flagship location or online via our live virtual offerings. NY Cake Cafe is the in-house bakery, catering and events arm of NYC's preeminent baking & decorating supplier. Located at the Manhattan Flagship store on W 22nd St, NY Cake Cafe offers custom cakes, dessert bars and interactive DIY decorating kits.
