In the third of five Buttercream Essentials Certificate classes, brought to you by NY Cake Academy’s Cake Decorating Fundamentals, learn to create simple buttercream drop flowers with ease using specialty tips, such as Russian tips. A favored tool for many pro’s, these Russian tips allow quick and easy repetition formed with a single pass through this specialty pastry tip. Guided by our expert instructors, you’ll practice techniques with different tips to create roses, tulips, daisies and more. Complete the class with a crash course in blending frosting colors and adding simple green leaves to create a dynamic presentation on your Flower Cake Box!

-Understand different types of buttercream

-How to make an American Buttercream for Decorating

-How to properly hold and use a piping bag, couplers and tips

-To assemble a cake and practice using a turntable

-Difference between various Russian piping tips

-Practice drop flower piping techniques with Russian tips and other speciality tips

-To create and blend colored buttercream

-Create a flower cake box with an arrangement of drop flowers and leaves

 


NY Cake Academy classes are held in our Manhattan flagship at 118 W 22nd St. All supplies and materials included, but if you require any special accomodations please don't hesitate to contact us at custom@nycakeacademy.com. Our classes are hands-on, interactive experiences. So, please dress accordingly. We recommend wearing casual clothing that you won’t mind getting a little sugar on, and flat comfortable shoes. Open toed shoes and sandals are not recommended as this is a safety concern when working within a kitchen. Long hair should be tied back.
